Posted August 08, 2019 08:54:49 Travis Scott will be finishing his long and storied career at the end of this year, after 20 years of writing, recording, and touring.
And the first song from his forthcoming album will finally be released in 2019.
He announced it in a recent Instagram post, announcing a tour for 2019, which includes stops in Australia, Europe, and the US.
“I’m really excited to finally be releasing this song in 2019, as well as the final record,” he wrote.
“This is what I’ve been dreaming of for so long, to finally make the music I love, with my fellow musicians and the fans.
I can’t wait to get to the studio and start playing.”
Travis Scott released his debut album, Travis Scott, in 2007.
It was followed by the follow-up, Life After Death, which was released in 2012.
Travis Scott is best known for his hit single, “I Can’t Breathe,” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number four on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Hot 100.
In 2016, Travis released his second solo album, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
It included the song “Ride This Train,” which he later performed live with the late rapper Snoop Dogg.
The album debuted at number six on the Hot 100 in 2018, with a cumulative sales of more than four million copies.
“The Good, the Bad, the Ugly” peaked at number nine on the charts in 2021, before being removed from the chart.
Travis also released a live album, A Good Place to Be in 2017, which featured tracks from the band The Daps.
He also released his sophomore album, This Is The Night, which debuted at #13 on the album chart.
His third album, Tango, debuted at the top of the charts, earning him the #1 position on the Albums Chart in 2018.
In 2019, Travis’ third solo album was released, The Best in Me, which earned him his first top 10 album in over a decade.
Travis released a collaboration with producer DJ Mustard, which included “Love Story,” the song that became a hit single on the hit song “Love Me Harder.”
“I love this song,” he told Rolling Stone.
“It’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever done.”
The duo also collaborated on the title track of Travis Scott & The Dapper Disciples’ album, I Am the Best, which also peaked at #4 on the albums chart in 2018 and featured the song, “All You Need Is Love.”
“We were going to release this record, but we had to cancel the tour, because we wanted to be sure that this song was perfect,” Travis told Rolling Stones magazine.
“We’re all super excited about this record.”
The tour kicks off in August with stops in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Travis is also scheduled to perform at several major music festivals in 2019 including Coachella, Coachellas first festival, and Coachembes second festival.
“A lot of my friends have been asking me about my next album,” he said in a press release.
“My answer is the same, but it’s not a good one.”
Travis also announced that the album will feature a remix of “All the Small Things” from the movie The Social Network.
He told Rolling Sistemart: “I’ve always loved The Social NETWORK and I’ve always been an A-list producer.
And I’ve loved collaborating with some of the greatest artists in the world.”
Travis was last seen at the MTV Video Music Awards in January, where he announced the release of the Travis Scott: A Tribute album.
“You guys know I have some really great friends and I have a lot of amazing fans and it’s always been my intention to bring them some of my songs and make some really special music,” he shared.
“But this time I’m doing something special and I’m releasing something truly special to the fans.”
Travis is set to perform his first solo performance at the New York City-area Hard Rock Café on April 25.
